Job Summary:

Zymo Research is looking for a dynamic individual to join our Business Development Team. This is an excellent opportunity to explore business expanding opportunities in the Academia sector.

Zymo's expertise in providing end-to-end solutions for biomedical research with a rapidly growing customer base - from sample collection to in-depth bioinformatics analysis - will serve as the foundation for the intern's work.

The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated learner, an effective team player, and possess a strong interest in learning about Business Development. This hands-on experience at Zymo Research will not only bolster the intern's expertise in Business Development but also contribute to the wider scientific community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The primary project is to ensure Zymo presence in the procurement systems of top 200 universities in the United States.
  • Reaching out to purchasing departments to check our presence and provide necessary information if Zymo is not present
  • Leveraging Zymo Research' minority Owned Business status to make sure the company is registered as a diverse supplier with top 200 universities
  • Explore universities' bid portals, check Zymo presence and register in the portals.
  • Review available bid opportunities, run them by the relevant teams at Zymo Research and help prepare documentation should a relevant bid be identified.
  • Help with any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Project manager.

Education and Experience:

  • Have or working towards a BBA or MBA. BS in Biotechnology or related field is beneficial but not required. Preferably a recent graduate or someone with junior or senior standing at an accredited university.
  • Knowledge of basic Microsoft office suite, proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Word.
  • Strong work ethics, ability to work independently and do thorough research, set milestones, and keep track of progress with minimal supervision.
  • Professional and courteous demeanor.

Compensation:

The estimated base compensation range for this position is $20 per hour at the time of posting. Actual compensation details will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
